Kevin Boyce

Kevin Boyce, Senior Program Officer, Statewide Community Relations

As Director of External Relations, Kevin Boyce leads the management of the Foundation's Columbus Office, Government Relations, Affairs, and Advocacy Additionally he oversees statewide community affairs on behalf of the Foundation.

When he is not working to promote college access for high school students in Ohio, Boyce is involved in the Columbus community. He is an elected member of Columbus City Council where he serves in the position of President Pro Temp. He is chairman of the City's Finance and Zoning Committees. Prior to his City Council and Foundation positions, Boyce served as Chief of Staff in the Ohio House of Representatives for the Democratic Caucus.

A graduate of Columbus East High School, Boyce holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Toledo, and a master's degree in public administration from Central Michigan University.

Boyce's honors include mention in Ebony Magazine as "30 people under 30 in significant leadership roles throughout the United States of America," and a community service plaque from the National Council of Negro Women for "outstanding contribution to the young people of our community." In November 2004, Mr. Boyce was honored as an outstanding role model for young men by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity in partnership with Leadership At Its Best, LLC.

Boyce works to improve education because he believes in its power. "Education is a fundamental right of every individual," he says. "But even more importantly it's the key element of success in achieving one's dreams."
