Tim Tuff is the former chairman, president and chief executive officer of John H. Harland Company. From 1998 to 2007, Tuff reorganized Harland's businesses according to its core competencies of Printed Products, Software and Services and Scantron. He also completed the acquisition of Concentrex, Inc.-the largest acquisition in the company's history- which helped to position Harland as a leading provider of software designed specifically for financial institutions.
Tuff joined Harland after five years as president and CEO of Boral Industries, where he managed the North American and European operations of Australia-based Boral, Ltd., a world leader in building and construction materials. He joined Boral in 1993, and under his leadership, the U.S. business focused on four core businesses, and through a process of internal business improvement, acquisition and innovation, achieved market leadership in each business.
Tuff earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He also received a master's degree in marketing from the University of Lancaster in England and attended Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
Tuff serves on the Board of Advisors for the Carter Center, which focuses on international mediation and disease eradication.
